2025 AUDI Q7: WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEW HYBRID AND PHEV MODELS?

A newly released rendering of Audi’s upcoming Q7 is generating buzz in the automotive world. The design shows a careful evolution, blending familiar styling cues with a modern, digitally-inspired look at both the front and rear.

Arriving nearly a decade after its second-generation predecessor, the new Q7 will be built on the Volkswagen Group’s MLB Evo platform.

This flexible architecture also underpins several premium SUVs, including the third-generation Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q8, Bentley Bentayga, and Lamborghini Urus.

Powertrain options are expected to include gasoline and diesel engines as well as electrified variants, all paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior rendering suggests a refined yet bolder take on the current model. Up front, split headlights dominate the design, with the lower portion housing the main beams and the upper strip serving as daytime running lights (DRLs).

Flanking the oversized grille are additional lighting elements, while the lower bumper incorporates wide air intakes and vents for a more aggressive stance. A clamshell hood and prominent fender flares further emphasize the Q7’s strong SUV character.

The side profile retains a sleek silhouette complemented by traditional mirrors, while the rear design highlights Audi’s four-ring badge between slim taillights. The lower bumper integrates a license plate mount, and new wheel options and color choices round out the refresh.

The next-generation Q7 will utilize Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. Alongside traditional combustion engines, buyers can expect mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options.

Audi also plans to offer a high-performance SQ7 variant, which could feature a V8 engine or a smaller alternative depending on market demands.

Audi is expected to officially unveil the new Q7 in early 2024. Given that these renderings are based on recent spy shots, industry analysts believe the production model will closely resemble what we see here.
